BADV Silver Jubilee Celebrations – Durgapuja 2025

মা আসছেন !… are you ready?

This year holds deep significance for all of us at BADV as we celebrate our silver jubilee — a milestone that reflects our shared journey and commitment to this beautiful tradition. Let’s come together to honor Maa Durga in a way that resonates with all our hearts. Imagine the vibrant colors, lively sounds, and emotions that make the BADV experience so special. Picture the rhythmic beats of the ঢাক filling the air, the fragrant incense wafting by, the laughter and warmth shared among friends, and the mouth-watering taste of authentic Bengali cuisine. Each moment will not only celebrate our culture but also bring us joy, connection, and cherished memories. We are also pleased to announce that our rates will remain the same as last year, making it easier for everyone to join in! So, please bring your family, invite your friends, and be part of this memorable celebration where tradition intertwines with joy.

We are thrilled to commemorate our 25th Durga Puja, a festival steeped in rich heritage that holds immense importance for all Bengalis. This heartfelt three-day event will take place at McKean High School from Friday, September 26th, to Sunday, September 28th. We will kick things off on Friday evening at 5 PM with Debi Boron and Shasti Puja, followed by a warm dinner and an engaging cultural program featuring our talented community members, including the wonderful Shilpi Kundu, a finalist from “Meri Awaz Suno: America Rising Star,” along with The Monk Band.

On Saturday, our day will begin at 10 AM with Saptami and Ashtami Puja, followed by a delicious lunch and a vibrant cultural program featuring a theater performance by the youth group of BADV. It will also include a kaleidoscope of Bollywood and Tollywood medleys performed by our community members. We will then be graced with a recital by Jayati Chakraborty, whose heartfelt renditions of Rabindra Sangeet and Bengali songs have touched many souls. Her music speaks to the heart, creating strong emotional connections that unite us all. We wholeheartedly invite you to immerse yourself in her enchanting music, which captures the essence of our shared experiences. The day will conclude with a delectable dinner, allowing us to share stories and laughter together.

Sunday will begin with Sandhi Puja at 10 AM, followed by Kumari Puja, Nabami, and Dashami Puja. A traditional Bengali lunch will follow, bringing warmth and joy to the afternoon. After lunch, we will honor our cherished tradition of Sindur Khela, where women from our community and beyond come together in a spirit of joy and celebration. To cap off this meaningful celebration, we will have an exciting Bengali rock concert featuring Kolkata’s beloved Silajit Majumdar. As a celebrated singer-songwriter and actor, he has touched many hearts and received accolades, including the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) for “অযোগ্য” at the #JoyFilmfareAwardsBangla2025.

We can’t wait to share this unforgettable musical experience with you!
